Need assistance: Work is telling me to update my iPhone OS or I will lose access to "corporate resources"

I know most of us have put off running the 14.4.1 update due to it disabling certain features but I have to use an authenticator for access to some sites. Do any of you brains have any knowledge of a way around this? Am I being paranoid about not updating? What are your thoughts?

Buy an iPhone 4 or 5 for $40 and use that for the authentication app. If they’re not happy with that then they should provide a acceptable phone for access.
