I am not sure, I haven't done a deep enough of a dive on it, but the small amount of analysis that I have done does not add up to me. It feels more like something that would hook the ethos but does not hold up as much logically. I think if there is something to it Adrenochrome is more of an umbrella term/code to explain something they are after more than the actual adrenochrome molecule. Adrenochrome seems like a less than ideal drug and one that would be much more likely synthesized than harvested from humans. I would believe maybe they are after something more like some form of stem cell or other adrenal secretion that could somehow be manipulated into something more useful or recreational. I think that is a way they could really capture youth more effectively but that is just my speculation. I could also believe that this could be something more along the lines of a depraved ritual that binds them together and promises indefinite allegiance that remains secret, I think people become very addicted to ritualistic behaviors especially with social components and maybe a belief system that separate one from humanity and continues the feelings of divinity from human or other weaknesses in an ultimate ego fulfilling sickness. Those are just my two cents, I know the research on adrenochrome is very limited but I think the idea of them actually being after the adrenochrome chemical feels very farfetched and irrational.
