By normal American standards, they are quite wealthy. By the standards of Harvard-Westlake, they are average. These are two-career couples who credit their own success not to family connections or inherited wealth but to their own education. So it strikes them as something more than ironic that a school that costs more than $40,000 a year—a school with Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett’s right hand, and Sarah Murdoch, wife of Lachlan and Rupert’s daughter-in-law, on its board—is teaching students that capitalism is evil.
For most parents, the demonization of capitalism is the least of it. They say that their children tell them they’re afraid to speak up in class. Most of all, they worry that the school’s new plan to become an “anti-racist institution”—unveiled this July, in a 20-page document—is making their kids fixate on race and attach importance to it in ways that strike them as grotesque. https://www.city-journal.org/the-miseducation-of-americas-elites
I don't call that enlightened. What action did they take? Did they take their kid(s) out of the school? Did they ask the rest of the parents to join them and remove their kids? All the "enlightenment" in the world is useless unless it's backed by action, serious action and a decision to speak truth to power in a manner that may hamper social status or marginalize them and their kids. Brave, forceful, action that says you won't stand for the lies, indoctrination and wokeness bullshit.
Hey, they're just waking up. Let them at least go pee before they start on enlightenment.
Lost my brother, brother-in-law, neither of whom will speak with me. Both of them are Ivy league, lawyer and doctor. They think I'm a cultist and in need of a re-education camp. Lost a few business clients because I don't believe in masks, a few neighbors go out of their way to avoid me. We can't visit my wife's mom or dad who are in nursing homes because we won't submit to the vax. We've not seen either in over a year and we only live a few miles away. I've stopped shopping at grocery stores that insist on limiting the number of people to the point where customers are lined up around the block in the cold and rain/snow.. I used to shop there almost every day and haven't been there in over a year. I don't watch TV, haven't been to a movie in over 10 years, stopped going to sporting events where players won't respect the flag.
Never in my life would I hear the sentence “some elites are awakening”.
