That episode didn’t mock the game though, it mocked the no life neckbeards that played games all day and took it too seriously. The literal running gag of the episode is the boys becoming fat slobs to beat another fat slob.
You're splitting hairs, their point stands. I also think you're both correct, because it cuts both ways, IMO: I would be inclined to say that a game that turns it's player base (insofar as the SP ep. is concerned) into neckbeards is mocking the game as well as some of it's audience.
