Well thanks, but seriously, I just want to remind anybody and everybody, that without Martin Luther, William Tyndale, and others who fought and died and faced much persecution, that we wouldn't even have an America. Because literally, without Luther, Tyndale might have never translated the bible into english, and without tyndale doing what he did, Elizabeth 1 (first protestant monarch ever), who was not perfect, but lead to King James 1 after her and Mary Queen of Scots got into it hardcore... without King James 1 authorizing an english version of the bible, even with all that has benoist in translation fro. Language to language, then after 1611 when it was translated, at the comission of that king, then 50 to 80 years later, english speaking pilgrims, seeking asylum from religious persecution might have never sought to colonize America, leading to the imperfect but still Great America we know today. The first 5 books of the bible, known as the Torah, or in Hebrew translated, The Law, was literally a big part of our framework for the laws we enjoy today. So when I see someone talking trash on Protestantism, It makes me a little upset, which is why I reacted a bit passionately in a few of my replies. But dangit!! Without the God-Given eight to protest against tyrannical rulers, such as The ROMAN Catholic Establishment... Where and What would America even be??? Would we even have this right to debate at all?? So that is my take on it. I'm a Southern Baptist. And honored to be one, I stand by The Word (Jesus), and will not waver in my soul. All those roads that lead to rome, who crucified Jesus per the request of the Jewish leadership that was in bed with them at the time can go back a whoring after thier other gods like they always do... Ba'al, Asthura, Ishtar, whoever... I love Jesus, and Jesus loves his children.
Catholic people are good people. It's the roman catholic establishment that I don't take kindly to. In my opinion, around circa 200-300 ad somewhere in there, the Roman's, highjacked Christianity because of the ongoing conflicts between the Christians and Jews that they kept having to get involved with. And as soon as they did that, they incorporated as much roman paganism into the church as covertly as they could. And afterwards, after the fall of the roman empire, taking advantage of pretty much the entire public not knowing how to read, they monopolized the scriptures, this why you had to have a bishop, or a cardinal, or a priest, to even know what the scriptures even said. They were The Catholic, ESTABLISHMENT were the scriptural information gatekeepers of thier time, which lasted a VERY long time. And that is why, I believe that the orthodox church was so deadset on not having the bible translated into english. Because once the common folk got a hold of the scriptures, the establishment loses it's power and dominion over the word. Because the gospel sets people free. Which is why, it is o surprise to me that after it was translated into english, around 50 to 70 years later, America was formed. And Freedom of Speech was #1 on the list of Amendments. And literacy in america was a big deal, except among slaves.... imagine that.... but the pilgrims weren't the main slave drivers, it was the colonialists that came right after them in my opinion... colonialists = crown as far as I see it. But The Torah, or The Law is literally five books on HOW-TO set up a Nation under The LORD. Literally. It is every single detail needed to set up an entire Nation that Loves The LORD first. History is actually quite amazing when you actually look into it. At least from the way I see it. But all in all, Catholics are good people who want to love The LORD. Do I believe in their ways... No. But they all have functioning brains, and if they choose that way, when there are other ways out there, then so be it. As far as I see it, if you really Love Jesus, you will seek HIM with an unending ng passion. And that I believe will lead you to exactly where you need to be, with HIM.
umm, im speaking from exp, go to a study group with 50-80 bashing on rom-orthadox and suprised someone my age was able to hold biblical/theological conversations ina though provoking manner. all the orthadox relation theybhad were with idiots that were told and never learned.
roman orthadox has the closest to original foundations, but I am not arguing they were never corrupted. I have issues with their teachings when the very bible they are teaching from in another chapter says otherwise.
I have been to other church styles and that is why I believe pastors and lead figures "need" to study the word. the history, definition of words, implied meaning words, and why choices were made.
I have met pastors that preach on "feel the lord leading me " and their sermon is 180° to biblical meaning.
my fav pastoral setting was a leader that was part of union/pacific RR and shouted across buss to answer bible questions.
he always referenced everything and criss checked words.
There ya go!! Good stuff right there man! And that's why I will reserve my judgement. Because i don't get to judge, even though sometimes I may, and when I do, I know I need to take a step back. I am fortunate enough to have a pastor who does what you mentioned. Studied word history, learning the meanings, and not preaching on, "feelings" but from the bible and only the bible. I belong to a church I hold dear, because I have never found one quite like it. I know there is a method to the orthodox way. I really do, I mean look at Antioch. But even still I will not condemn another for seeking Jesus. Because in an everlasting pursuit, I believe one will find. And since NONE can fully uphold The Law, and i truly do believe we live in the age of grace, i think we might have a little leeway here and there. But I am still learning. So even if I am wrong. I am open to reproof of sound doctrine. I'm only 30. But dang it, I'm on a mission every day. Because The LORD has made an impression on me. And I cannot shake it. I respect your words, and am glad that you have chosen to speak to me. Because heck, look at the archbishop that wrote that letter to trump exposing certain things. So I know Catholism isn't all bad. Just like i know Eastern orthodox isn't either. I don't know very much of thier stuff, because it's basically from a part of the world that doesn't make it's way over here to america that often. But in any case. Good stuff man. Good, good stuff.

Lots of peole bash on catholism,
well duh, they grew past the bounds they were supposed to maintain. then allowed pollution of peganism, and counter the old testiment.
Ask any church goer what a scapegoat is.
you cannot understand the gospel without the foundation the gospel came from.
