For those of you who are having a hard time awakening others, take this into consideration. Some truths will/are tough for ppl to swallow. It's so damaging to their perception of the world that they refuse to even hear it. Take time to gauge your audience and start off with things that dont go to far out. Build up to the whole picture. Plant the seed and water it but dont drown it. Once that seed takes root your job is done.

Start with earlier lies that people might not have an emotional attachment to.
when the chemical companies created a large leaf plant killer in the 1940s, it not only took care of dandelions but also clover. Clover was actually preferred in grass seed being purposely added from 5 to 15% for feed purposes but also for healthy soil. When the people complained the companies said "well, you don't want clover either". The result of removing the clover is that the soil isn't as healthy anymore, so now you have to get fertilizer from the same companies that are making your grass unhealthy to make your grass "healthy" again. They've been using ad campaigns for decades to change our collective minds on what a healthy lawn is.
In the 80s they flipped the food pyramid all wonky. Why? Some Nutritionists and MDs came out saying fat doesn't cause fat, why limit it like this guy wanted to? They said we need to limit carbs and sugar not have 9 servings of grains and bread for God's sake. The industry shut out those voices, just like they are doing now. Unused carbs turn into sugar and then body fat to be used when needed at a later time.
When you remove fat, you remove flavor, to get flavor back they add sugar. At the molecular level sugar is terrible at imparting taste to taste buds so you need a lot more of it than you do of something like salt. Ever notice how little salt you need to get the "salty" taste vs. how much sugar is needed? A spoonful of sugar to get the equal flavor level of a bit of salt. We all know about the amount of sugar in soft drinks but check out Ketchup and all kinds of other foods they hide it in under various names.
Why did the food companies hire a HACK to flip the food pyramid? Money (and to make people sick and reliant on the government). It's cheaper and faster to grow carbs and sugar than it is to grow fat and protein.
Note that the obesity epidemic exploded in the US right after this. Other countries that follow the US in junk food trends follow in obesity also.
