• I’m not asking anyone to do any of this. It is a thought experiment and contemplation on confronting mask mandates. In fact, it’s probably a really naïve and hopeful idea. But there’s a chance that it works. This is an uncomfortable idea.

-I researched most arrests regarding refusal to wear a mask. There’s only like 20-30 big ones that made the national/public news in USA. There were almost always two charges, the first was always regarding the refusal to wear a mask equated to “criminal trespassing.” The second charge which most people had was “resisting officer/arrest w/o violence” by being dramatic or resisting arrest. Some people got off and the judge dismissed it.

-What do I know? In many localities, it’s still in a ‘grey area’. I don’t know if I will get punished for not wearing a mask because there is no precedent in that specific locality yet. But I know there’s national examples going both ways.

-Sidenote #1, the easy solution would be that everyone who doesn’t want to wear a mask, stops wearing one. Then the government can’t do anything. But that seems like a hopeful fantasy. (I’m talking about hardcore states and places where everyone wears a mask and enforces the rules and will likely call the cops).

-Sidenote #2, in one aspect of Jungian Psychology, the idea is to integrate the shadow into the conscious as best you can, not to shy away from all the unpleasant truths and hidden scary monsters in your psyche. That’s what I am doing here by not pressing the issue and seeing where it ultimately leads. I don’t know exactly what will happen when I resist, so I hide away from this shadow because I am scared to face it. I keep it in the grey area because I am weak and terrified of this unconscious shadow monster. But there’s possibility for great treasure if I confront the metaphorical dragon that’s evermore manifesting its way into reality.

-So, what can actually be done in these more commie areas? What are the different outcomes? Well, I think the overall goal is to press the issue to its ultimate reckoning point, and to flesh out exactly what happens. It’s the polar opposite of our instincts. To either have a judge throw it out, or prosecute me. This is the meat and potatoes of how to peacefully expose the freedom people didn’t know they had, or verify the lack of freedom they thought they had in a locality. Unfortunately, I think it may have to end up in a local court.

0. I go into a place w/o mask and they don’t even call the cops. This locality is now free, mission success.

1. I go into a place w/o a mask on with a clear mask mandate, where everyone is wearing a mask, preferably a place where you know managers are likely or will call the cops. Be peaceful. “Sir you have to wear a mask.” “No thanks, please do what you have to do.” Then they call the cops. Cops show up.

2. Cops do nothing. This locality is now free, and you are the sole person who freed them. The dragon has been slain. Mission success.

3. Cops remove me from building but do not immediately detain or arrest me in the first instance, either giving me a warning, ticket, both, or neither. I peacefully escalate it. I bring the situation to a front, to an end. I wait in my car, making sure not to loiter, until the cops leave, then I re-enter the building, and go through the exact process again and again until they properly arrest/detain me for criminal trespassing. The goal isn’t tickets or warnings, it’s to bring the situation to its truthful end. Confront the machine until it gives a final answer. Until they properly detain/arrest me and start the process for a court hearing. (side note: How can they remove you from a premise for criminal trespassing but not arrest you, that doesn’t make any sense.)

4. Cops immediately detain/arrest me and start the process for a court hearing.

Sidenote #3: What happens if they force you to wear a mask in the cop car or jail cell? I would not unless they will add additional charges to the case, but idk. Remember, the goal is solely the one criminal trespassing variable.

Sidenote #4: In my commie state, the sentence for misdemeanor non-violent trespassing which does not destroy property is 30 days maximum in county jail and/or a fine of $250.

-Interjection #1: It is EXTREMELY important that the only charge I face is the refusal to wear a mask equated to criminal trespassing. This is the sole variable I want to examine. None of this resisting arrest or ANYTHING loud or sudden. Absolutely and completely peaceful and kind. The goal is to determine what police and judges will do solely regarding this mask law.

Success Outcome: My case gets thrown out and/or I am not prosecuted. The precedent is now set. My county, or possibly entire state, is now free. Congratulations patriot.

Failure Outcome: I get arrested AND get charged by a judge in court with a misdemeanor for criminal trespassing. This county is lost. The dragon won. The peaceful route is extinguished. It is exposed that this is truly a commie area. Would I then escalate to something non-peaceful? No, I would not. I would give up hope in this locality for the time being. I don’t see much else that could be done, in all honesty.

Think for yourself, these are just my thoughts. Being a sacrificial lamb just to expose whether a locality is truly free or not could be an expensive price to pay.

Tl;dr Fuck around (peacefully) and find out? (Peacefully expose the freedom people didn’t know they had, or verify the lack of freedom they thought they had in a locality.) ¯_(ツ)_/¯
