Mock all you want. I agree I did a double take the first time I saw it, but the more I watch the video + the additional angle the more I think it's just an optical illusion.

I agree it seems strange, but I think Biden caught these reporters off guard with how close he got. You can see them shuffle the mics around right after he walks up. That explanation make more sense to me than green screen.

"Caught them off guard"... what the hell does that even mean?

You don't catch someone off guard when a) your equipment is set up in advance, and b) the person you're filming walks slowly towards you giving you copious amounts of time to adjust if needed.
