Regardless of what the news says, there might be a reason to think Trump just claimed he got the vaccine but actually didn't and it is as follows:
He already had the virus. For most vaccines, if you already had the virus, there is no point in getting the vaccine. It could even increase the risk of an adverse reaction. For some reasons, this one is treated differently. Their reasons for still getting it are not backed by any science/evidence. They basically say:
If you’ve had COVID-19, you likely developed some amount of natural immunity to it once you recovered. But we don’t yet have a good understanding of how long that natural immunity might last. We think the vaccine can boost your protection without causing any harm.
'We think' does not sound like they have any evidence. They're just making stuff up as they go along. Trump could easily skip the vaccine with little risk to himself from the virus in the future as he already had it and just claim he got the vaccine for optics (to not give the media a reason to attack him and not allow Biden to take credit for getting the virus under control, which was their plan).
Even if he did actually get the vaccine, the question becomes what type. You can bet that if he did get the vaccine, it would be one of the safer ones. However, as regular (non wealthy or elite) people, do we even have a choice in the vaccine we would get? And if we do, do we even have access to the information to tell use which ones are better or worse.
And they are now telling us there are 'bad batches' of vaccine (this might just be a cover for a vaccine type that is bad overall, who knows, you can't trust these people to tell you the truth). If bad and good batches indeed exist, how do you know what type of batch you are getting? And this is all for a vaccine for a virus that if you're in descent health, you will have no problem fighting off.
