She’s fine. She had a low grade fever and some weakness. She actually caught it at the hospital when she was there for a completely separate issue. But all day long all she does is watch Fox News. That will never change. I, personally, stopped watching after the election. But Nicole Sapphire that gives updates on the virus is nothing but a fear monger. My mother-in-law has not left her house in a year except for doctor appts. What a way to live. At least she’s not in a hurry to get the vaccine now that she’s had the virus.

Demoralizing people in this way will in itself increase death rates. It's a weird form of the placebo effect. There are rare cases reported in the scientific literature where people had test results incorrectly diagnose them as terminally ill and they ended up dying even though there was nothing wrong with them. The media spouting these lies has negative consequences. We know by even the numbers the provide us that this virus is not that serious, especially for younger people (anyone under 60) and women.
