I really wanna believe that it’s all because of that but since they did this last year I have to just assume that it’s because of Covid. Don’t know what Covid has to do with paying taxes on time but I won’t complain since I haven’t filed yet lol
Just an FYI, the 1.9T bill contained a provision that the first $10,200 of COVID relief payments would be tax free for the 2020 tax year, subject to income requirements. Since it just got signed into law, the IRS hasn't finalized the rule and not all tax preparers / tax prep software is ready for it.
If you already filed, keep checking back on the IRS site, you may need to file an amended return to get some cashish back.
