Regardless, I think these are valuable discussions to have and welcome further answers to my other questions. I agree that such penalties are logical with limited exceptions (i.e. saving the life of a mother). For starters, we have to educate the population and change the laws. Improve people's lives and the role models they are given. Compassion is a strong shield and losing the life of one who can be redeemed is tragic.
