So if there are thousands of miles of tunnels and bases under the US, what did they do with all the rocks the machines grind away? Wouldn’t we have to have tunnel openings all over with a steam of trucks removing the rocks?

Where did it all go? Couldn’t people tell the rock fragments of used for public works, etc. aren’t coming from a traditional quarry? Just seems like a whole bunch of rock waste out there that nobody has ever explained or brought up as far as I know? .... any ideas? This been covered somewhere?
