A local business owner who I am friendly with, is of Taiwan descent. He's middle aged, either born in Canada, or moved here prior to University (based on conversations with him).
He's really against cancel culture, the lockdowns, mask nazis, and many of the manifestations of Leftist lunacy.
However, he fails to see the connection between these aspects of our society and communism. He actually misattributes them to capitalism ('it's the greed and selfishness caused by capitalism!").
He said "China and the West aren't so different", failing to recognize that's because our society is descending into communism, rather than being the same all along.
He also attributes China's economic rise solely to communism, and that "we should live and let live, they'll leave us alone". China wouldn't have risen if it didn't utilize aspects of capitalism to prop up its' regime, nor would it have risen if the West didn't make a poor decision in aiding it.
Insanity.
I can understand where his brainwashing comes from, it was still quite stunning though. It's at least two parts.
First, apparently when the Taiwan government & military fled to Taiwan decades ago, they didn't ask permission, they just took over. Many women were forced to be wives of the soldiers, including one of his relatives. The family of these folks are pro-CCP and anti-Taiwan (at least, anti-Taiwan "occupiers").
Second, the CCP has plenty of propaganda in Taiwan, as I understand it, because they want to reclaim it, and if they can do it with subversion rather than military take over, that's the preferred option.
Those Asians are conditioned to be book smart and lack critical thinking skills. I firmly believe that America dumbed down the schools on purpose to indoctrinate the youth.
I used to be a regular at a nice chinese restaurant. There was a waiter there I would talk to about American communism. He believed that could never happen. Even through the pandemic he believed the government had his best interest in mind. That's after spending their entire savings to close the restaurant for two months, closing their indoor dining area, and losing a bunch of customers. They can't wait to be shot up with experiential drugs. The irony.
I'm mixed-race Vietnamese/Ukrainian, I can't stand college educated Asian liberals. So many of them are out of touch with their parent's culture and feel isolated from western culture so they get into Intersectional Communism

You're right. The real problem is that Asian-Americans go after college degrees. These universities then have 'liberal arts' and 'diversity' courses that brainwash young Asians into this mindset.
One thing I noticed during my time in college is that the 'humanities' departments are the center of the indoctrination. The 'STEM' departments have little to no propaganda; almost all professors there only care about technology and practical job skills.
It's the exact same process that creates leftist white liberals. The IVORY TOWERS are to blame. Why did the Uniparty create the federal student loan program? To rob us blind and indoctrinate us.
