A free market doesn't exist when the total normalcy of organised crime against any upstart competitor is a given. DDOS attacks, hack attacks, attacks against their banks, payment gateways, attempts to steal their domain, and even mass defamation in the fake-news media - we have seen all of these in play for sites like parler, gab and 8kun.
Fake news spread lies, the lies are sourced on wikipedia, google/fb/insta/twitter/apple then leap on the 'verified' and 'trusted sources' to ban their apps from their app store, to slander them as racists or supremacists or nazis, and its a done deal.
Big Tech owns the free market in their sector, much like the 10 biggest food companies owns the free market in their sector, and others in theirs (and that chart is outdated btw).
You thought you were boycotting Coca-Cola, you most likely were just dropping one of their products in favor of another.
And any brands or new business that become big or succesful enough will always sell out to the bigger players.
Most of what you are saying is bullshit and overly broad generalizations.
There are cycles of consolidation, followed by differentiation. Consolidation (through mergers and acquisitions) tends to happen in mature markets.
Differentiation occurs due to innovation and the creative destruction of stagnant markets by better alternatives.
There is not much innovation in the food market, but differentiation can occur from local sourcing instead of buying from large chain stores.
Tech on the other hand is absolutely ripe for another wave of innovation. That wave is on its way, but it requires some time to take effect. I personally am part of that impending wave.
Yes,they have monopoly because you keep your money in THEIR banks, you buy in THEIR shops, and because you have no YOUR banks.
At the end of course having YOUR banks is all about having enough influence in government to stop them from shutting down your banks, but thats also the story about monopoly !
By the way: Parler is also example of critical incompetence of its creators who not obfuscated fucking android app code - allowing leftist hacker to reverse engineer it and other not fucking caring about site security.

Need to deal with the organised crime first.

Either the government will control the economy, or the economy will control the government. And we can't vote out google.
Even if we stop used their services completely, they would still have control. They have a monopoly. Do you remember what they did with Parler?
