Suspect has been named- 21 yr old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa.

Perhaps the gunman/actor involved was racially ambiguous so that they could assess how believable the event was to the general public?

If everyone was buying it hook line and sinker- suspect is white guy

If people are calling BS- suspect becomes Arab

They had to wait almost 24 hours to gauge the public response to the FF.
