The haziness you're seeing is smoke from fires. It was that way bad here yesterday. There have been an exceptional number of fires across CONUS the last few days.

I'm in WA state and I pay close atention to the skies. We'll have beautiful days until the lines start being sprayed in the sky.
Often they'll turn into the fakest looking clouds or create that haze you're mentioning. My wife and I point it out to each other often.
