The company name is in large letters on the side, Evergreen. The name of this particular ship is written across its bow, and it's Ever Given.

It's called a "flag of convenience". Panama is a big one, along with the Bahamas and Liberia. A lot or shipping regulations are determined by a ships port of registry and some will let you register and just do whatever the fuck you want for a (affordable) price.

Standard issue shady shipping stuff, not a big deal in itself.
