Umm. If 3GD fails China will lose a huge portion of its industrial and agricultural land. Instant poverty and famine. The humanitarian crisis would affect a bullionish people. China would cease to be an industrial power for at least a few years. There's no way the CCP wants the dam to fail.

Plus a giant portion of its electric output. Why would CCP do that when they could just burn the place down and disappear everyone who worked there? That would be like fixing a corn by cutting your leg off.
