This ship was going to Rotterdam from Yantian port in Shenzhen, China.
I just want to add a little linguistics here, just for fun.
Shen means deep, zhen is a drainage canal. A deep drain.
Rotte from old Dutch means rat. Dam from old Danish means pond.
Let’s deep drain the rat pond. Lol. Watch the water right?
Btw Yantian is one of many ports in the Shenzhen port complex. It’s name refers to a pond with high salt content. A place you might harvest sea salt. Not very relevant I guess?
Seriously though I’m digging deeper on this. I’m extremely pissed at my blind naivety and bias. I had no concept that Taiwan could be facilitating human trafficking or worse. I’ll post what I can find.
