The white-knighting for Russia on this site is unreal. They are, at best, a convenient and temporary ally for certain scenarios. They are NOT our friend.

Well, someone has a handle on geopolitics and at least 3 don't.

Russia no longer an enemy but most definitely an adversarial global competitor. They've annexed most of the Arctic to dominate any northern sea route that may become available from climate change. Not to mention trying to get toeholds in any warm water port they can. While they may work with us, they will also do what is advantageous to them first. Sometimes their fingers get burned too -
