"The foundations which support the interest of Christianity, are also necessary to support a free and equal government like our own. In all those countries where there is little or no religion, or a very gross and corrupt one, as in Muslim and Pagan countries, there you will find, with scarcely a single exception, arbitrary and tyrannical governments, gross ignorance and wickedness, and deplorable wretchedness among the people. To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoy. In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation, either through unbelief, or the corruption of its doctrines, or the neglect of its institutions; in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom, and approximate the miseries of complete despotism."
So everyone has to have the same beliefs as you or the country is done? The right and the left are the exact same then. They seek total compliance with their choice of beliefs... I don’t believe a god even exists am I now not allowed to be a part of this? Do I have to go and join the leftists?
The country is falling off the rails like it is because people don't believe a God exists. They only focus on their own selfish desires and don't listen to what's written in the Bible. The things you consider to be "moral" are only so because you are living within a Christian country that has created the moral code. They are not guaranteed to be considered "moral" in other societies. For example Christianity preaches forgiveness. When a woman here cheats on her husband, she is not stoned to death. Even though it's considered a SIN, we still preach forgiveness and restraint as a society. That comes from the Bible. You have benefitted from the moral code created by the Bible, but you think you can remove it from people and still have the same society. It doesn't work like that.
That being said, I don't believe in forcing people to be Christians. I just don't think we can have a free and good society if people don't turn their hearts towards the Bible. For the past 20 years we've had "freedom," and we've watched perversion and degeneracy infect our entire country. Now our freedom is falling apart. All while people turned away from Jesus. This is not a coincidence, fren.
You should probably read more books about human behaviour than just the bible. I do not believe that god is real, I do not believe the bible to be the word of god but the word of man. It’s not a lack of Christianity that’s fucked the country, and others around the world.
