This is just a small experience I had last week. Our fridge broke down last weekend so we had to make a trip to town to look for a new one. First we went to a scratch and dent store, I had brought my mask but told the hubby I'm not putting it on since it didn't look like there was anyone in the store anyhow. There was one customer there when we entered and one employee. Both had masks on. The customer left and the employee, seeing we weren't wearing our masks, took hers off and never put it back on the whole time we were there and speaking with her. (Yay!)
Needless to say, no luck finding the right size fridge there so onward to Home Depot. Hubby stated they pretty much push the mask wearing there so reluctantly I put one on. Walked down our first isle and I noticed a family of 3 not wearing masks. Something came over me and I ripped off my face and said 'Fuck this!'. Hubby then takes his off. Took a selfie and sent it to my kids. What a freeing moment it was!
It's these little steps we all need to take to embolden others as I was at that time.

Makes you stand a little taller, doesn't it?
?
Yes it does :). As for follow up, the next day our fridge decided to start cooling properly again and has been fine since. Prior to that, our milk was spoiling over the past 3 weeks. We thought it was bad milk even though the expire dates werent even close. Decided to manually check the fridge temp and it wasn't good. So in the end we spent $1500 on a new fridge thats coming Wednesday. But our old one is 20 years old so time for a new one anyhow..lol.
Sounds like the circulation fan temporarily seized. It WILL go out before long if that's what it is. Search replacement procedure, usually not too bad..
Thanks. For now it will be retiring to the garage as a beer fridge. Looking forward to the new one.
Glad things worked out. Did you check the coils for dust buildup or the condensation pan for buildup? Might be good for another 20 years.
We did and they were fine. I cleaned them well last year because we had a damn mouse die in the back of the fridge last year and since I was back there I did a thorough cleaning of all the coils etc.
