That map tells me we need electoral colleges at the state level to reduce the influence of the metropolitan areas of the country. Why should 90-95% of the country's area be ruled by 5-10% cesspool bastions of groupthink?

Good point! And I don’t think it would take a Constitutional amendment seeing that the Constitution delegates how states conduct their elections to the state legislatures.
