In my younger days I worked in the underground Trona mines in south western Wyoming. I assume all underground work has the same safety procedures? If there was ever a cave in, fire, or other incident where you were trapped you were supposed to retreat to one of the "rooms" that were set up for you and your crew, and seal yourselves in. If and when your rescuers could ever get themselves to your location, theoretically they could get you to safety. At the least, and all knew it, they knew where to find your bodies. These refuge chambers are just a prefabricated "room" easier to install. But yes I guess the company that makes them would be looking for other uses for them, to increase their income streams. enter text
I watch countless abandoned mine exploration videos but mostly Canada\Arizona\California.
Also, what a fascinating job to have had. I couldn't do it. Thanks for the input.
