God bless you people. Seriously. They allow you to homeschool foster children? I'm a little surprised. Is there anything else you can share about the experience of fostering? What kind of people is it for? How bad is the corruption within the system according to your experience? Or has it been a-okay? I used to be in a moms group with a woman who fostered but there was never time to ask her for more information. If you have time, I'd love to hear. You all sound fantastic!
You have to get special permission to homeschool your fosters. It can be a pain to get the permission, but it can be done! We are homeschooling Our kiddos that we adopted. There were entirely too many issues with PS, and unfortunately with their behaviors, homeschooling just works so much better for them. And they have blossomed and are totally different kids now ❤
As for the system, there are so many workers that are in it for the right reasons, just like we are. To make sure these kids are cared for, shown lots of love, and protected. AND there are very bad workers who could care less about the kids (just a case number to them) and make it all about the parents... we have worked with both types.
We have heard stories that will make your skin crawl, we have cried for these babies, and we have wanted to fight the cowards that make their lives a living hell.... but you take each day, each case, each kid and keep moving forward for them. It is not for the faint of heart, and believe me, it is not easy, but these kids ARE WORTH IT.
