Friends - today is celebrated in Christianity as Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem for the final time before his betrayal and murder. The people expected a king who would be a political figure and who would free them from Roman occupation and servitude. The Jews longed for a return to the power and independence of David and Solomon. But Jesus did not come to wrestle with earthly political kingdoms. He cam to change men's hearts. The Church grew massively under the very Roman oppression that the people on Palm Sunday expected Jesus to overthrow.
Many here end their posts with the message "God wins in the end". However, we need to understand that God is not bound by our expectations of HOW that will happen.
I think you make an excellent point and am reminded of how we must become less so that He can become more. Often our view of Gods plan is obstructed by our own plans. Common trap of living in this flesh is that the world and our thoughts seem more imminent than our Lord.
