After seeing other threads in which people talk about waking up in the comments, I thought I’d make a post on just that. Would be interesting to see each members story on here and see if a particular event woke you up. Here’s mine:
I used to think that the government officials were just stupid and needed to be shown things in order to operate more efficiently. I used to think that in general, most of them wanted what was best for this country and it’s citizens. Boy was I wrong.
Back in the late 90’s I believe, I attended a second amendment sisters rally. It was a counter rally to the million mom march in DC that day. A friend and I held up a huge sign all day that read “Criminals love gun control, it gives them a safe work environment “ After the rally we all marched down towards the MMM rally with them heckling us all the way. I encountered some very deranged women that day who held no value over their own lives. I literally tried to have a conversation with a woman who said she would rather be raped and killed herself than to have her neighbor defend her with a firearm. I was literally stunned by this statement and speechless. I knew our conversation was over at that point.
What changed me that day though was that I was handed a libertarian newspaper by someone. One of the main articles exposed the inside connection to the Oklahoma City bombing and why it was done. When I read the details of that story a light bulb went off in my head and I had a paradigm shift. From that day on I knew most of our government hates us, wants to destroy our livelihood and freedom, and has nothing but contempt for us. From then on I researched all I could and became more awake everyday. I know I would have eventually awakened from something else, maybe 9/11, but I’m glad it happened so many years ago now.
What’s your story?
I was never asleep, only uninformed as I used to not care for politics. Being raised in a socialist country and then moved to America. Critical thinking and a proper education in the home country—it’s painful to tell you that even the socialist country I was in, they didn’t indoctrinate and brainwash the students like in America.
We were pushed to study a lot of advanced programs with no “everyone get a trophy” mentality. Everyone need to get an A- to pass. If you get a B+ you might as well quit school and selling oranges on the sidewalk because a B+ means you don’t qualify to pursue higher education (universities). Very high learning standard and I think it helps the students developing a certain level of critical thinking, something that the majority of “educated people” in America lack (example: American college students and hardcore democrat voters who have established careers).
What I really hate is when someone tell me what to think or have an opinion about something. I used to intern at company and the coworker (who was also my college classmate) kept badmouthing President Trump and tried to make me hate the man. Obviously all of the badmouths were slanders parroted from CNN and it made me lose all respect for her the moment she opened her mouth.
And then I watched the fall of the cabals. That series completes the fragmented pieces of thoughts regarding the so many issues in America I used to ponder about but never properly research because I didn’t care for politics before President Trump ran.
And finally, my leftie Ivy Leagues best friend. I still love her but she really disappointed me. So very uninformed and brainwashed.
Fall of the Cabal was quite an eye-opener for me. And of all the things that really got me questioning, it was the attention to detail to the migrants who "walked" 2,000 miles. I really enjoy wilderness backpacking, but I'd never look as good as they did after doing 10-2000 miles in flip flops.
