Dad and I were talking on the way home and he thinks that Biden's mileage tax to fund his infrastructure bill which will undoubtedly be very unpopular and lead to a massive number of Americans rebelling and even lead to talks among state governments about secession. I do think if this did happen, Texas would be the first to leave the union for sure as they have been leading the charge against a number of Biden's unconstitutional executive orders and policies such as his immigration policy. What do y'all think the chances of us seeing many states leaving the union are once Biden does impose his mileage tax?

If we needed the cash so badly, why spend all the $$ on illegals, or send trillions overseas??
Silly ? they need more of our money to send to the rest of the world [laundered]. America last is not just an idea it's a retirement plan for our politicians.
Exactly, the states that do a better job with managing their budgets should be the ones taking over control of infrastructure projects on their lands. Maybe then some who live in blue states would then move to a red state.
we gonna skip the fact that they cheated in the last election, that our vote doesnt count ---> TO --> oh, man, i dont want to pay mileage tax???
Nope. Just one more reason to let the blue states burn to the ground.
Tracking device on all vehicles. There will be no escaping surveillance.
It does. The states that do a good job with their own fiscal budgets would do a much better job of maintaining the road network. The national highway system might as well be defederalized and handed off to the states.
The truckers won't stand for it either. They already have to have electronic logging devices and that already has failed as many truckers have had to speed just to be on time based on the logging device. I bet some truckers might even start ripping the devices out when this mileage tax goes into effect.
I got bad news for you.they pay it already.its a giant expensive pain in the ass every quarter.
How much you wanna bet that DeSantis and Noem both block this? That would be the start of the mass exodus from blue states. Maybe not secession but definitely conservatives leaving blue states for red states.
Count me in.
I know we all should get along better than we do but I'd be totally fine with deporting liberals out of my great state of FL so they don't muck up anything here anymore.
Start with Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties
It seems the big cities are the most liberal for some reason. Do liberals not enjoy nature and wildlife? I live in Tampa now but I don't plan on being here but a few years before moving further south again.
For many years I lived in north FL out in the country, in the county like 8 or more miles from the city. There was a gas station and dollar general nearby and that was it. It was great because I had a house, yard, dogs back then and enjoyed nature and the outdoors.
Big cities are like concrete jungles and not really that appealing. I won't get into my story right now because that'd be a long story but for certain reasons I moved from south FL and felt like, well I'm 42 so why not move further south since I love the hot warm weather and oceans.
I live 6 miles from the ocean so that's not too bad. I believe Tampa is about 50/50 republican/democrat but it's not bad here. The city and county still have their mask mandates but it's never been enforced that I've seen.
I eat at restaurants without ever putting on a mask. I go to stores without ever putting on a mask. Often employees aren't even wearing masks unless they have no choice. I know some employers want people to wear a mask or find a new job which really should not be allowed but it is what it is I guess.
There are people that are just whacked out bat shit crazy and they need to stay in their liberal cities but not all liberals are bad. I generally have no issues with anyone so long as things they do don't directly impact my life.
I would like to see liberals basically pushed out of red states so that their impact is significantly limited and so Biden and the elites would have a much more hard time with implementing their agenda for America.
Start the mass exodus? Why do you think people are always complaining about Californians in Idaho or New Yorkers in Florida? We’re been leaving for a while. It ain’t the commies that are leaving commie land.
People should realize that most "infrastructure" is not a federal problem. Most of the roads and bridges are state problems. Electric lines belong to the electric companies. There's nothing in my area that the federal government has any business touching, outside of the post office.
This is going to be just another porkulus bill like the previous one. It's a big waste of printed from thin air money that's going to cause prices to go up. You all need to stock up more. I'm going out for more tomorrow.
Honestly? No.
If you act as an individual, they’ll throw you in prison, shoot your dog, and make you the poster child of white supremacy. You can’t act as a group, because any way to organize is controlled by the opposition who will shut down any coordinated efforts and deplatform you or whatever. Any leaders on the right will all cuck out because they want to keep their jobs more than they want to solve any problems.
Bend over and take the girl cock, bigot.
Remember China wants us to break apart, much easier to conquer.
Administer.they already took us over.
People will find a way around it, just like everything else.
I would disable the fucking thing if they put it in new cars. I helped a guy who wanted all onstar disabled (I did not ask nor did I want to know why). It was not too hard but they made it a pain in the ass. I am sure that any tracking can be disabled along with any reception of roadside transmitters or gps. If they required mileage reading at plate renewal, just get an old car and unhook the odometer.
I’d imagine that they’ll do it through the DMV. When you register your sticker you have to provide verification of your odometer reading and then you file it with your taxes
"yup I only drove 100 miles last year" <snicker>
Exactly.
if they try and audit you after driving 100 miles a year for many many years, order a new computer for the car "dey dun stolded muh puter in muh ride"
Article from 3 years ago 5 ways your car may be tracking you.
https://www.thezebra.com/insurance-news/5576/tracking-tech-good-and-bad/
they should all do it and leave the fuckers in DC to fend for themselves.
I don't know how he would get this past the Teamsters.
Back in the thirties I believe or the fifties.
You pay it not the states so I doubt it.
Just so everyone is clear, the program would use your cars gps to track tour milage ( and your every trip in your car)
In my state, when the car is inspected each year, they get the mileage. That's what they'd have to do with this tax, as my car doesn't have GPS. I don't carry a cellphone/tracking device either.
Yep. They'll have to have to do math they say is "racist" to calculate the number of miles driven.
Or just assign you an approximate amount.
disable....easy peasy
