I love this. I feel like a lot of farmers and truckers are probably based. We could turn their whole plan on its head by just refusing to deliver food/goods to liberal companies/cities. That would be a huge undertaking, but I’m sure we’ve got enough brains to work out logistics and switch the system around. Might get worse before it gets better though.
I agree. We need to learn to help each other stop relying on Amazon, Walmart, Big Pharma etc. It won't be easy because most American people have become lazy and want to order everything and create nothing. Nothing worth really doing is ever easy, right?
If you want to grow a business in your neighborhood, here's something you can start right now, no money needed, just feet (feet optional).
To participate, you must meet one of the following six criteriia:
You can cook delicious nutritious meals and enjoy doing it.
or
You can grow delicious food and enjoy doing it.
or
3 You can provide land where you can grow or raise delicious nutritious food.
or
You can provide transportation of delicious food to be prepared and to be delivered.
or
You can provide knowledge on how to do any of the above.
or
You can connect any or all of the above with each other.
Find someone to make home made meals. Find someone nearby that is tired of ordering from Pizza Hut or picking up Mcd's. Offer them a subscription of home made meals in exchange for whatever they can provide. Ask if they like gardening, have a plot of land that can be used for growing, can provide transportation of meals or just spread word of mouth. Make a deal. Explain your plan and why.
Think you are just helping provide home cooked meals to your nieghborhood?
Oh you are part of growing something bigger than you realize.
Also try trading what you can do for what you cannot do. You grow food or make meals then trade some with someone who will help you learn to sell online etc.

I've been really getting into woodworking and carving bowls/utensils so maybe I'll just do that if it's needed. -shrugs-
Woodturning is something I would love to do as a hobby. I should get a lathe.
we* should get lathes.

This is a great idea.
Agreed!
This is exactly what we need!
We need our own kind of Amazon. I’ve tried to sell on Etsy and eBay. Either you get buried on page 113, or you are competing with junk from China
