ok, so what is he connection to him dying and "calling a plumber"? I thought the plumber was more for the clogged drain at the Suez

A plumber clears clogs/blockages and fixes leaks. Liddy was a political "Plumber". In the instance of the suez debacle perhaps it's alluding to things going on behind the scenes that will soon be visible.
