what if Q planned this? anyone paying attention to evidence presented in court and if what we expect to be presented by the defense is produced, the chance that Chauvin gets convicted of anything serious is nil to none.
the big Q we should have is, when he`s fount NOT GUILTY, how much uproar will their actually be? antifa and BLM lost their steam big time once Biden "won" the election and the enthusiasm level has been absolutely dismal. not to mention the reports of ActBlue and the dems apparently screwing over antifa and BLM financially that seemed to piss off these marxist, or money whores at best.
so what if Chauvin is found not guilty and it's near crickets from protesters?
I say that means go time! If they display such lack of enthusiasm and fight it's clear they don't really want the administration that's been foisted upon them and they are ready for the military and ultimately the return of GEOTUS
I think many people here are under the impression that Chauvin should be found not guilty.
ANTIFA an BLM are praying for that as well. They really want to burn, loot, and murder.
I'm of the opinion he is guilty. Not of premeditated murder or a hate crime, just of manslaughter. Maybe just simple negligence?
He knelt on a guys neck for 8 minutes. He should have had better situational awareness, regardless of if Floyd downed enough drugs to take down a mule (which he did by the way).
With the crowd forming, he might have lost track of time and didn't realize what he was doing. I think he was scared because of how police have already been villainzed for decades now and everyone had him on camera. When all the attention is on you, you freeze. Cops aren't trained to be on stage. They are trained to keep the peace.
It is understandable he figured the best thing for him to do was nothing, lest he be filmed doing something he would regret. Unfortunately, he didn't realize how long he had been kneeling on Floyd.
I don't even think he complicated Floyd's condition. I'm certain he didn't use enough force to hurt Floyd. Floyd shouted "I can't breathe" multiple times before Chauvin knelt on him, and then several times after. If Floyd felt the knee was the problem, he would have indicated to the officer "stop kneeling on me" because he clearly is seen to have no obstruction to speaking in that position.
What Chauvin did do is neglect making sure Floyd wasn't overdosing, which seemed rather apparent. Since Floyd refused to get in the car and actually asked to lay down on the ground, I'm actually not sure what Chauvin should have done. How do you deal with a massive hunk of meat tweeking out on a cocktail of drugs? Just call and ambulance and step back? Maybe? There actually isn't much you CAN do in that situation. Either way, kneeling on the guy is definitely not the best option.
Anyway... Justice would be if Chauvin gets a year or two, deducting time spent, and maybe a year probation. That's how I see it.
sorry I'll admit i stopped at "He knelt on a guys neck for 8 minutes. He should have had better situational awareness, regardless of if Floyd downed enough drugs to take down a mule (which he did by the way)." they showed evidence in court that Chauvin`s knee was actually on his back. and the coroner i understand unequivocally stated that floyd died of things other than a knee on the neck, but i guess we'll see
That's why I don't think it is murder. Just manslaughter, if that.
Negligence is the best fit.
Chauvin simply didn't provide the appropriate aide to Floyd. That's about it.
The kneeling thing should only be considered in that Chauvin really didn't need to kneel on Floyd.
If someone has been stabbed, you wouldn't do something like take their shoes off would you? It doesn't matter that it didn't actually lead to their death, but it certainly wasn't the proper thing to do if someone were bleeding out in front of you.
That's how I view this case. Chauvin simply didn't provide appropriate aide to Floyd.
The question for the court is if Chauvin would or should have known what to do in that situation. If he was trained to handle an overdose, did he follow the training to a T? If not, he is negligent in the death of Floyd. Simple as that.
If he wasn't trained in handling an overdose, he should walk, no question. That's a failure of the police academy, not Chauvin.
Someone here might call you a white knight for "taking" Floyd's side.
Had that happen to me.
I agree with you on manslaughter.
Nah, I'm not on Floyd's side.
Everything that happened he did to himself.
He knew the risks, and he still swallowed an entire sales kit of fentanyl.
He didn't deserve to die, but he did deserve to go to jail for all the crimes he committed that day.
