How can an internet dinosaur save posts someplace that can't be lost?

Isn't it easier to save the login credential so you dont lose that, and can login again if/when needed? And not just for here but everything else you have a login for.

Cookies expire, auth servers get rebooted and can glitch out, browsers can change and mangle any saved credential info. But nothing can mess with your offline credential store.

I did think I had all my login info saved. Horrible shock to find I did not.
