The countries in charge of the canal are not interested in letting the Evergiven into the rest of their canal to get fully out until they know exactly why it got stuck in the first place. Admittedly the next section has two canals but no one wants to get down to one canal trying to get this specific boat out entirely. Especially with the current backlog of boats. Nothing on that boat is valuable enough to risk global trade. Everyone involved with the boat is pulling the “it wasn’t me” defense.
