I'm a truck driver so I cover alot of ground. In my travels{just in Texas} I have noticed new car dealerships with hardly any cars on the lots. Just wondering is this normal or is there more to it?

In my morning commute I Travel over the Richmond bridge in the SF Bay Area, right there is multiple railway staging areas for new vehicles. They are full. On another note, the Oakland/Alameda dockyards are full of containers and at least (6)+ full container ships have been sitting at anchor for a couple of weeks... I don’t know if it’s idle or a back up, I don’t cross the Bay Bridge very often to see if they’re exchanged.
