Not sure if you're aware, but NYPost is right-leaning, just like NYTimes is left-leaning. They always post GOP talking points like this, same as Fox News, etc. So take it with a grain of salt.
As a New Yorker, weed is legal here now, so that's cool.
They want weed legal so they will have more of the population in a stupor, so that they are easily swayed into voting for the destructive Democrat policies. "Wow man, I feel great! The price of weed is down, and I really don't care what those politicians are doing!"
Maybe that's how you react to weed. My friends smoke and they're perfectly productive people, not in a "stupor" as you put it. Some people have a glass of wine at the end of the day, other people smoke a joint. Different folks, different strokes. I think you've watched one too many D.A.R.E campaigns, because that "stupor" view is pretty outdated and disproven at this point.
Also, think about how much revenue it will bring into the economy, it's going to be a highly profitable industry.
I hope you are right, but there are a lot of VERY stoned people around. I guess as long as that number doesn't increase, it shouldn't be a problem. Pot is at least 4x more potent than when I was in college in the mid '70s :)
