I saw a flash of the news on the TV screen in my Spanish class after the morning announcements. Maybe 5 seconds worth of the news. I pulled out a sheet of paper and started writing down everything I could remember, trying to puzzle out what was happening. Things started coming to me that I know I hadn't seen during the very brief interval between when the announcements ended and our teacher shut off the tv. I wrote down Bin Laden's name, Al-Qaeda, plane crash, building collapse imminent and a bunch of other things. Freaked me out, and I didn't want anyone to see what I was doing, so I threw the paper away. Wish I'd kept it. I'm pretty sure I wrote down things the government didn't even know at the time.
