There are so many levels to look at this. My child is homeschooled so I am somewhat removed from this situation. That being said, I do not blindly submit to any authority, which imposes by force or by sanction, unjust, endangering or unethical behavior. Wearing a mask for extended periods, especially for younger people, is all three. Science shows it can deprive oxygen, cause infection and has negative psychological effects. If my child were enrolled in such a school I would accompany them to the school with scientific documentation of the issues and a public letter addressed to specific school officials that if they force my child to wear a mask and ANY injury is incurred, the school district as well as the officials personally would be held responsible. And if the school says no, then my child doesn’t go. But that’s me.
