Its not a huge deal to most of you, but this was big for me. I'm near Pittsburgh, PA where our governor has destroyed businesses. He and his sidekick, Rachel Levine?, made sure that everyone would "stay calm, stay, healthy, and stay safe" by keeping everyone locked down. I teach in a Catholic school where we we in person all year. Because the public schools were mostly online or hybrid, parents got sick of it and brought their kids to us. This is how bad it has been. Well, like most of you, I gave it the two weeks to flatten the curve AND THEN ANOTHER YEAR! I'm fed up. Yesterday I shopped entirely with no mask at Aldi. It was huge for me. I dont believe they work, but I havent had the nerve to try it. There were two women who got in line after me with only a few items while I had a cart full. I offered them to go ahead. They were both friendly and smiled and thanked. There was not one look or comment from them or anyone else including employees. I realized that something I have been seeing here is true. We have to lead. I'm betting most of them don't agree either but are hesitant to take that step. There are so many more of us!!! Today the permit to carry line in our area is unbelievably long. They have underestimated us.

Imagine doing this from day one and not complying with it?
My job requires travel. I do not fly, I drive. In the last year, since all this mask BS began, I refused to wear the muzzle. I did the research, found it to be 100% bullshit and flatly refused. In that time, across 11 states, I was confronted once....only once...at a McDonalds of all places.
The story-
Was traveling to end destination of Georgia. Was around 9am when I hit a nice small town that had a McDonalds and just wanted a large coffee. Line was wrapped around the place so decided to go in. Got looks, as expected, then was asked if I had been helped, said no and ordered my coffee. Same person asked if I had a mask. Told her no, not here to rob the place, just want a coffee and be on my way (with a grin). Manager appears and says I have to wear a mask. Told HER the sooner you get my coffee the sooner we both dont have to worry about it. A few more grumblings from her, but got my Coffee, told'em to have a nice day and left.
...only one in a year+.
Yep!!! You're right. We all tried to do what we thought was right amd decent. Tried to give benefit of the doubt. How dumb it was, in retrospect.
