One thing to keep in mind is this has been one of the most un-popular measures he was secretly planning to implement. So un-popular in fact that he refused to confirm he would do it. And the fact that the Supreme court punted on every election case does make them seem non-partisan (or less partisan) to the left. This is just another un-popular measure he is adding to the pile. If there is a plan to remove him (and heels up), this can only help.

Also begs the question, why the rush? Why are they rushing to implement all their really un-popular measures so quickly. Obomber, for example, took his time. As does every politician with an un-popular agenda. Spread out your bad policies and try to implement them quietly.
