For the last few days/weeks I've noticed a definitive decline in original posts and in comments.
Is it because too many have been banned for questioning the plan or have too many people moved off the platform and gone to Telegram?
I do know that I stopped posting like I used to because someone was turning me into the moderators - accusing me of dooming.
At that point I decided I will read the posts and when appropriate I will very carefully comment.
Be that as it may, compared to the amount of posts and comments from 3 months ago, GAW has lost a lost of content, which is sad.
I love reading what others think/feel but I am afraid too many they feel as I do; afraid to share their honest opinions for fear of being banned or blocked.
Hence, what used to take me a couple of hours to read now takes less than 30 minutes.
Truly a shame
I used to frequently comment and engage in discussion but that tapered off in recent times. This is the first time I commented in about 10 days where as I used to post multiple times daily.
I too have noticed that many of the same regulars who's opinions I'd enjoy have also tapered off too. Now it's only the same handful of people posting stuff and the place has become an echo chamber of sorts. Like you, I could spend hours poring over the info here in times past - GA.win was the news site for me. That changed.
Personally, I attribute this to a few things:
A few weeks back there was some ridiculous push over green screen usage in some benign Biden commentary. This nonsense was advocated heavily by certain mods here who intentional or not, had whipped up the less discerning here into a frenzied mob that attacked and made "examples" of other users who were trying to caution that there is no magic at play.
The fact that this and other more recent examples are often created and endorsed by fellow mods suggests a level of bankruptcy has set in. I find it unsettling that this has been allowed. If some mods are the ones promoting these hollow ideas what does that tell you about the state of things?
Many posts started to focus on the divine. As someone who is not religious but would earnestly defend a persons right to pray and worship. It became exhausting hearing the constant wave of prayers and believe in God posts. I completely agree Catholics and Christians have had their religion shat on like it's cool to do for a long time now and it must be great for believers to meet others at a time when their faith is being attacked but it's getting a little heavy handed.
There were many, myself included, who saw the shift in tone coming. Often making the parallel of what happened to thedonald.win before it became patriots.win which ironically was an event which sparked a migration of users from there to here. Reasoned discussion and dissecting information gave way to the same frat boy think that ruined TD.win. Too much "hopium", "red-pills", "I got 17 cents change at the service station! WWG1WGA!".
While there were various waves of similarly styled doomer posts. Many wouldn't even bother investigating the persons post history to establish if they are in fact, a doomer or shill, or just somebody who's buckling a bit and has a legitimate question.
Then again, your mileage may vary. These are my observations and certainly why I have retracted from being a part of things.
Excellent response and thank you. Quite a mature response compared to those who told me to leave the platform for being a doomer.
