obsessive parents think their energetic kids are somehow sick when they aren't.
I think this is dismissive. Hyperactivity in the home and work and classroom wrecks havoc. If mom or dad suspects something is wrong, I wouldn't call that obsessive, I call that being a concerned and in-tune parent. We should all be so lucky. The obsession lies with "going to see the Rockefeller-Eugenics-Masquearading-As-Health-Care" doctors. They go to the wrong place to get help. I do not doubt they are actually noticing symptoms though. If a parent says something is wrong, it's better just to listen and keep taking notes, not call them obsessive.
How many children do you have? Surely you know the difference between energy and hyperactivity? There is an energy that can be focused for hours. We use Montessori and it involves a 3 hour "work cycle" where the children focus but are energetically doing their work.
There are children who cannot focus, they bounce around from place to place. Neither the child nor the adult caring for them is content because the child's brain is malfunctioning. It looks like a hyper child but the inability to focus is really disruptive to that child becoming a well-functioning adult. I've seen it with my own eyes. Parents know when the energy and behaviors are normal and when they breach into the category of "we have a problem somewhere".
Did I mention the USA has a trace mineral deficiency problem? And an omega 3 fatty acid problem? These are the perfect recipes for hyperactivity. You see these kids grow up and get shot by cops on Youtube. They are also starved of B vitamins because the grains destroy the body's ability to absorb them. That's why they add B vitamins to bread products. It isn't enough. This is the root of the mental health issues. B vitamins are crucial to GOOD mental health.
I think the earlier you can detect a problem, the better the outcome. The problem is parents are going to allopathic doctors instead of functional medicine or integrative medicine doctors. Our entire understanding of medicine and food needs to change fast. The children are hurting. I can see it. Everywhere I go I see malnourished and sick children and everyone thinks they look fine. Am I obsessive? Fuck no. I see a problem coming. My job is to warn others.
