You mean you put a url into your browser? While you can use the top bar as a search engine entry (because of addons that allow you to do so) if you put a url into the bar the browser uses the standard function of going to that url. If you are blocked from that url it is either a function of the browser itself (security function) or the server you are trying to access blocked you (or something in between sender and receiver (unlikely)).

The point is, it wasn't DDG. That's just a search engine.
