Got kicked out of a Potbelly for not wearing a mask. I went in to pick up a to go order for my office that was already paid for. Anyone who has been to Potbelly knows it's a quick process to grab a to go order and go. Within 30 seconds of me being in there one of the employees asked me to leave the restaurant. I turned around and pointed at 5 people in the restaurant eating with no mask on. I asked the employee why it was an issue that I sit at a table with no one within 15 feet of me with no mask, while these people are a foot away from each other laughing. Does eating food make you immune to spreading the virus? He blamed it on company policy, to which I responded, "That's some Communist sheep bullshit thinking. Use your brain."
I am absolutely sick of these adult children unable to make rational decisions for themselves. Even if it is company policy - what did you have to gain out of going out of your way to kick me out of your restaurant? I'm done with Potbelly. Put this company on the long list I'm done with. They've obviously brainwashed their employees enough to be considered woke beyond repair.
It would be funny if you just kept ordering large meals from them, but before they let you pay for the order they kick you out for not wearing a mask. Some time passes, food gets thrown out or given to the employees, manager loses inventory. Try again. Order some food, maybe something different. Walk in to pay for the food, get kicked out, inventory lost. Again and again and again and again
Depending on how it's structured, that manager would really be screwing themselves by digging their heels and clenching their assholes over an obsolete, outdated store policy. On the flipside, the company might not give a shit about how much Sysco crap it throws away. It all depends on how Mr. Krabsey the manager's supervisor is. Would be a funny prank.
Hmmm this could work but you might have to wear the mask until the food was ordered and assembled, then argue with them, don’t pay, and walk out.
not at all, just wait until it tells you the food is ready and make sure to not pay in advance. argue with them only a small amount and then say, "you know what just cancel the order."
they can't force you to pay if you haven't already and then suddenly don't want the food. Just order, wait till it's done, try to pay, disagree over masks, tell them to cancel, rinse and repeat. Huge money loss for them and watch them suddenly say "okay you can pay but next time please wear one" and watch that become their new policy, accept the payment but plead with them to mask up the next time (which he never will). Big downside is when they finally accept you might be out up to a hundred dollars depending on how much food you ordered, but it would be worth it to bring back normalcy.
