A friend told me he is going away for 6 weeks. Hasn't had a long term event like this in 5+ years. Apparently headed to FBI Hazardous Devices School. He told me he was an MA when active so struck me as strange he'd be going to this "training".

Great. Thank you for explaining a bit more. As a service member, can you tell me if it's odd for a reservist to not leave their hometown for 5+ years and then out of the blue finds out about a 5-week training in another state?
