That is a holdover from the 60s "peace" demonstrations... the hippies spelled it that way..

That's interesting,I suppose they were calling Nixon a fascist. That was a dark time in US history,with the trauma of the Vietnam War causing a social fracture in the US,the Communists were trying to cause a Revolution,just like now.
