Englewood (Sarasota, Fort Meyers aka I-75 West side) is mostly retirees from Midwest and land prices are still shockingly pretty decent. MaraLago (Palm Beach, Boca) is mostly NY / Jewish retirees (aka I-95 East side) but expen$ive. State is GREAT for retirees both sides.. no State income tax and good seizure/property laws for those who have had legal issues / lawsuits (wink).
No. It's 3.5 hours away on the other side of the state. Mar-a-Lago is on the Atlantic side and Englewood, FL is on the Gulf of Mexico side.
Exactly.

Exactly, I live in Englewood and own a few rental homes near MaraLago. Great area.
Yeah, my summer house is in Virginia right outside DC for work, and I spend winters down south.
My parents live in Punta Gorda (Harbor Heights)
I go there all the time to the Tiki Bar
THE most expensive property is on the Gulf side. Look up Marco Island. It's actually the most expensive in the entire U.S.
Man I wish I could stand warm weather.
