I've had so many arguments with normies (I maintain a persona of the moderate Democrat for slight cover) trying to explain that the correct approach is to prove Republicans lost and then shame them for trying to claim otherwise.
Not once could they grasp that not proving their case would create a pyrrhic victory as opposed to the unification that they legitimately seemed to believe.

Deep down, they know. They don't want to believe.
The know what's in the locked closet that no one is supposed to go in.
At least some have to, they don't let it slip but also know too much when it is convenient to their argument.
