Very good analysis. "They have never found their own way in the world"... as witnessed by the plethora of American chain stores, less I forget Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire. So much of their potential for ingenuity and entrepreneurship has been stifled by government regulations and taxation.

Allowing BC to go to China would be a huge strategic blunder. Eventually, that would creep throughout the Pacific NW and into California. No small wonder why the west coast is in such a political frenzy, as hoards of people are moving inland and with falling real estate prices, properties are being grabbed up by foreign interests.
