I saw a recent GA post where the redditors were claiming that their only objection to the audit is it's a waste of tax payer money which does not appear to be true at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that the audit is being entirely funded through donations (like mentioned here) and by various Trump linked groups. In fact, I remember CNN complaining about Trump groups flipping the bill for the audit (because if the government was paying for it, I would bet it would find nothing by design because it would not be a real audit).

Not sure if they were being ignorant (even their beloved CNN told them who was funding it) or just outright liars. What really surprises me is they think the people on GA and Trump supporters in general don't know this. They must think that Trump supporters are as dumb as they are (the redditors).
